The Sierra Club announced today that it has sent a letter to Dominion Cove Point stating that it will oppose LNG exports from the Cove Point LNG terminal under a prior legal settlement entered in the 1970s and most recently revised in 2005.

In response, Dominion stated that it feels confident that it can proceed with the export proposal under the agreement, and that it has signed binding precedent agreements with two companies, including Sumitomo Corp.
