Corpus Christi Liquefaction and Cheniere Corpus Christi Pipeline filed a joint application at FERC to construct and operate an LNG export and import terminal and an associated pipeline near Corpus Christi, Texas. The terminal design includes three liquefaction trains capable of liquefying up to 782 million MMBtu (approximately 15 million tons) per year for export and facilities to regasify 400,000 MMBtu per day of imported LNG. The proposed 23-mile-long pipeline will be located wholly within San Patricio County, Texas, and will interconnect with several interstate natural gas pipelines. The application can be found on eLibrary under Docket No. CP12-507.

In a related development, Cheniere Energy announced that it has filed applications with the U.S. Department of Energy for authorization to export up to 782 million MMBtu of LNG per year from the proposed Corpus Christi LNG Terminal to countries that have a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States and also to non-FTA countries.
