Sierra Club has filed a request for rehearing and stay of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Final Order granting Sabine Pass Liquefaction authority to export LNG to nations that do not have a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. Sierra Club argues that DOE should have granted its untimely intervention and that an environmental impact statement that considered increased U.S. gas production for the Sabine Pass LNG export facilities project should have prepared, rather than an environmental assessment. The filing can be found on DOE’s website under Docket No. 10-111-LNG.
