The Ottawa Citizen reports that Malaysian state-owned energy company Petronas and Canadian gas company Progress Energy have completed a feasibility study and are proceeding to the pre-front-end engineering design phase for an LNG plant at Prince Rupert, British Columbia, despite the Canadian government’s recent rejection of Petronas’s proposed acquisition of Progress Energy. The article states that the joint venture partners have proposed constructing a larger terminal if the government were to reconsider its prior decision.
