Late last week, the State of Oregon submitted a Motion to Reopen the Record and Request to Set Aside Order in the Jordan Cove LNG import project proceeding. In its filing, Oregon argues that the core circumstances underpinning the previous authorization for the Jordan Cove LNG project have changed, citing changes in the region’s natural gas market. The filing goes on to request that FERC set aside its authorization for the project, arguing that project developers cannot support a need for LNG imports in the region. Oregon’s submittal is available in FERC’s eLibrary under Docket No. CP07-444.

Separately, Bob Braddock, project manager for Jordan Cove LNG, told The Oregonian that he believes the project still meets FERC’s public interest standard, noting benefits in employment, tax revenue, and improved natural gas infrastructure.
