The U.S. House of Representatives voted 282-144 on the Omnibus Public Land Management Act, falling just short of the two-thirds required to pass the bill under expedited procedures. According to Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), the bill, which would designate portions of the Taunton River as “wild and scenic” and possibly affect the Weaver’s Cove LNG import project, will come up again in the House. It has already been approved by the U.S. Senate.
