Last Friday the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs approved the environmental impact report prepared for the Weaver’s Cove LNG import project. However, Mass. Energy Secretary Ian Bowles said that because the proposed site for LNG vessel berthing is located on state lands in Mt. Hope Bay, it is unlikely that Massachusetts would issue final approval of the project. The Fall River Herald News provides additional details.
