The Oregonian reports that the Oregon House of Representatives failed to vote on Senate Bill 977, a bill that would have required companies proposing energy projects located in Oregon, including LNG projects, to reimburse the state for costs associated with the permitting process. The Senate sponsor of the S. 977 suggested that the failure was a political maneuver in response to the Senate’s failure to vote on a House-passed bill, H. 3058, that would have streamlined one aspect of the permitting process for utilities and LNG terminal developers.
