On Monday, Judge Richard D. Bennett of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland granted a motion filed by AES Sparrows Point LNG, LLC and Mid-Atlantic Express, L.L.C. to intervene in the ongoing litigation between the Maryland Department of the Environment and the U.S. Department of Commerce  regarding the Department’s decision overturning the State’s rejection of the project under the Coastal Zone Management Act. According to the order granting this motion, the intervenors will be added as defendants in this case.
