Noting that unconventional gas plays in North America have generally kept gas prices low in the United States, International Energy Agency Deputy Executive Director Richard Jones told Platts LNG Daily that he expects higher LNG volumes to be delivered to European markets than to North America in the coming years. The piece also notes that European gas importers may use the more flexible LNG spot market to  reduce their dependence on  higher-priced natural gas imports via pipeline. [Subscription required]
