In an interview with Platts LNG Daily [subscription required], Ragnar Wisloff, a Hoegh LNG vice president, described Hoegh’s Port Dolphin LNG proposal off Florida’s west coast as “complementary” to its Port Meridian terminal proposed for the East Irish Sea. Wisloff said that since the two terminals will have different peak demand periods (Port Dolphin’s in the summer and Port Meridian’s in the winter), an LNG supplier could arbitrage between the two access points. Wisloff said that both terminals could be operational by 2011.
