FERC has determined that Freeport LNG Development, L.P., is not required to follow FERC pre-filing procedures for its proposal to install liquefaction equipment to recover boil-off gas from its storage tanks and to add unloading facilities for accepting trucked deliveries of domestic LNG. Freeport LNG’s proposal, submitted to FERC on November 12, 2008, states that such measures are needed to maintain a sufficient volume of LNG in the storage tanks to keep them in a constant cryogenic state. FERC’s letter to Freeport LNG is available in the FERC eLibrary.
