In a letter to the U.S. Forest Service, Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) objected to amending the Mt. Hood Forest plan to allow for the construction of the Palomar natural gas pipeline, which would carry regasified LNG from the Bradwood Landing LNG terminal to the existing interstate natural gas pipeline. Noting a number of potential environmental impacts, Sen. Wyden stated that as the “actual construction of Bradwood [LNG regasification terminal] is not, and should not be, considered a certainty, it is inappropriate to move forward on amending forest plans to allow construction of an entirely separate pipeline that would connect to it.” The Hillsboro Argus reports that the pipeline project manager said his company is working to mitigate some of the Senator’s concerns.
