The Daily Astorian reports on a letter that Astoria, Ore., city officials planned to send yesterday to Clatsop County Administrator Scott Derickson to ask the County to hire an expert to assess LNG public safety concerns and assist in the design of emergency response plans for the area’s proposed terminals. “[O]ur experience with LNG is limited,” City Manager Paul Benoit read from a draft letter during a City Council meeting on Tuesday. “Further help is needed to ensure a comprehensive and fully informed response.”
