MARAD today announced the filing of a Deepwater Port Application by Port Dolphin Energy LLC, a subsidiary of Höegh LNG. Port Dolphin will be located approximately 28 miles offshore of Tampa, Florida, in waters with a depth of approximately 100 feet. It proposes to interconnect with Gulfstream Pipeline, Tampa Electric Company, and other potential facilities near Port Manatee, FL. If approved, Port Dolphin is proposing to commence operations in the second quarter of 2011.
