Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has offered conditional support for extending the export license of the nation’s only LNG export terminal. She urges the Dept. of Energy to renew the Kenai LNG plant’s export license only if its owners, ConocoPhillips and Marathon, agree to give priority to local gas consumption, explore for new natural gas reserves, and buy third-party gas for liquefaction.
