Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) yesterday released further details regarding her conditional support for extending the export license of the Kenai export terminal. The Governor wants a long-term contract between Kenai’s owners, ConocoPhillips and Marathon, and local utilities Enstar Natural Gas and Chugach Electric at least through the expiration of the export license. Alaska also is asking that Kenai’s owners to work to develop new gas reserves so that proven reserves in Alaska will, at a minimum, be maintained at current levels. The Anchorage Daily News provides further coverage.
