Gloucester Daily Times (Mass.) reports that opponents of LNG terminals in the Northeast say the recent death of a humpback whale highlights the need for tighter restrictions for the increased vessel traffic expected as new LNG receiving terminals come online. A necropsy report concludes that the whale died soon after it was struck by an unidentified ship. The article also reports on the commitment of Excelerate Energy and Suez North America to install acoustic equipment to monitor whale activity.
