The Associated Press (carried via the Winchester Telegram (La.)) reports that Port of Lake Charles and Port of West Cameron are preparing to go to court over a land ownership controversy involving Sempra Energy’s Cameron LNG terminal. The terminal sits on land in Cameron Parish, La., owned by Port of Lake Charles, which rents the land to Sempra. Port of West Cameron is seeking to take over the land, alleging that Port of Lake Charles is not authorized to own land in Cameron Parish. Sempra Energy has not taken sides in the dispute and has said that the lawsuit will not delay the project.
