The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management denied the application of Weaver’s Cove LNG to dredge parts of Mount Hope Bay, which would have cleared the way for LNG carriers to reach the proposed LNG regasification terminal in Fall River, Mass. According to the Providence Journal, a spokesperson for the project’s developer, Hess LNG, said that this setback will not compel Hess to halt the project’s development.
