The Malibu Surfside News reports that NorthernStar Natural Gas, developer of the Clearwater Port LNG import terminal proposed for offshore Southern California, has filed a letter with federal authorities requesting that a competing project sponsored by Woodside Natural Gas, OceanWay LNG, face similar questions to those recently presented  by the U.S. Coast Guard to Clearwater Port LNG. According to the Surfside News, a Woodside executive responded that although some questions were expected regarding the terminal proposal, “we just really didn’t expect it to come from an LNG company.”

The Malibu Surfside News also reports that the U.S. Navy has formally withdrawn its objections to the OceanWay LNG proposal, with the condition that Woodside schedule its LNG shipments around naval operations.
