PG&E has announced a joint venture with Williams Northwest Pipeline Corp. and Fort Chicago Energy Partners LP to construct a 250-mile pipeline linking the proposed Jordan Cove LNG facility with markets in the Pacific Northwest, including California and Northern Nevada. “It is really a supply and demand [situation], and this project will provide another source for consumers,” said Michele Swaner, a spokesperson for Williams. Environmental assessments are slated to begin next month. Pending regulatory approval, the consortium plans to file with FERC by January 2007. An Associated Press article carried via The Oregonian and SNL Financial has the details. [The AP article is no longer available on The Oregonian's website.]
