The Dept. of Energy has scheduled the first in a series of public educational meetings designed to address citizen concerns about LNG. The meetings are required by the Energy Policy Act of 2005; the first will take place Friday, March 10, in Boston. “The Department of Energy’s Liquefied Natural Gas forums will initiate constructive dialogue among community members, local, state, and federal government leaders,” Secretary Samuel Bodman said. “This forum is one step, of many, that will help us address and evaluate our energy needs, and increase America’s energy security,” he said. Dates and locations for the other forums have not been announced yet.

Additional information on the forum is available at Office of Fossil Energy’s website .
