A Bahamian official has criticized remarks made by the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in the Bahamas, who suggested that the Bahamian government’s lack of communication on the status of pending foreign energy projects has led companies to look elsewhere. For instance, Suez is pursuing a terminal project offshore Florida after its Bahamian proposal stalled. Bank of the Bahamas Chairman Al Jarrett responded, “They are trying to get business for their people, but I think he was out of order by making that statement … Nobody should pressure this government into make decisions for investments.” Bahamasb2b has the details.
