The Jackson County Board of Supervisors and the Port of Pascagoula have permitted Gulf LNG Energy LLC to lease 106 acres of land that will be used for the construction of a 1.5 Bcf/d LNG terminal. According to the company’s chief operating officer, John M. McCutchen, construction will begin next year and the terminal is expected to commence operations in 2010. The Mississippi Press and The Sun Herald provide local coverage.
