DescriptionWe represented Conservation Forestry and Forest Investment Associates in negotiating and closing two of the largest conservation easement deals in history, preserving a total of 350,000 acres in Wisconsin, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. We also represented The Forestland Group in its sale to The Nature Conservancy of fee interest in 23,400 acres and conservation easements affecting 150,000 acres in the Upper Peninsula. The sale was part of a series of four deals that linked 2.5 million acres of protected natural areas, making it collectively the largest conservation easement deal in the history of Michigan at the time.
