Settled a case within the D&O insurance policy limits for several former executives of a Georgia bank.

ClientCommunity bank executives
Description
Represented a number of former community bank executives of the Georgian Bank, which was closed by the FDIC in September 2009. The bank's failure, one of the largest in the country, resulted in a multiyear investigation and the filing of a FDIC demand letter against our clients for nearly $900 million. We successfully settled the matter within the policy limits of the director and officer insurance policy. By settling the case prior to the filing of a complaint and within the available insurance proceeds, our clients paid nothing toward the settlement, and avoided the expected negative media coverage.
