Defended a major homeowners insurer in a putative nationwide class action brought by homeowners alleging that property damage to their homes and personal property allegedly caused by defective Chinese manufactured drywall was covered under their homeowners insurance policies. On December 16, 2010, the MDL court granted motions to dismiss by Sutherland’s client and other homeowners insurers, ruling as a matter of law that there is no coverage under the homeowners’ policies at issue. In re Chinese Manufactured Drywall Products Liability Litigation, 759 F. Supp. 2d 822 (E.D. La. 2010).
