Working at the Frontiers of Law and Science: Applications of the Human Genome

October 2-3, 2003

Sutherland was a proud sponsor of a program entitled "Working at the Frontiers of Law and Science: Applications of the Human Genome." The program focused on issues involving genetics and the law overlap among three professions - law, science and medicine. The American Bar Association Section of Science & Technology Law, American Medical Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science were organizers of the program.

John North, leader of Sutherland's Intellectual Property Group, was also involved in the program as a moderator of a panel discussion focusing on "Genetic Information in the Courts." The session addressed topics such as challenges created by genetic evidence for attorneys and physicians and issues arising regarding the increased use of genetic evidence. Click here for additional information.
