Sales Tax on Internet Sales:  Are "Amazon" Laws The Answer?

February 5, 2010

Sutherland Partner Stephen P. Kranz is speaking at a Tax Analysts event entitled  "Sales Tax on Internet Sales:  Are ‘Amazon’ Laws The Answer?", February 5, 2010, in Washington, DC.  Steve is part of a panel that will discuss whether states should tax Internet or other kinds of remote sales, and if so, how.

New York and Rhode Island have already adopted "Amazon" laws, and other states are considering doing the same.  In this session, the panel will also analyze these new individual state laws and discuss whether individual state laws are more effective or if Congress should enact legislation to enable states to pursue a multistate solution.
