His presentation, titled "Ethical Considerations for EO Practitioners," covers the following:

  • Attorney-client confidentiality within the different levels of an organization
  • Confidentiality vs. disclosure to the IRS
  • Self-dealing situations
  • Excessive compensation

A member of Sutherland’s Tax Practice Group, Matthew regularly represents corporate taxpayers and tax-exempt organizations, including universities; private foundations; other religious, charitable and educational organizations; and family offices having philanthropic services as a part of their functions. He has experience in a wide variety of federal tax matters, including planning and tax controversy work.
