Institute for Professionals in Taxation 29th Annual Conference

June 19-22, 2005

Sutherland partners Kendall Houghton and Jeff Friedman spoke at the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) 29th Annual Conference June 19-22, 2005.  This year's conference was held at the Fairmont Chicago Hotel in Chicago, IL.

Kendall's discussion, Tax Incentives – Are they Constitutional, addressed Cuno v DaimlerChrysler, Inc. and tax issues as they relate.  It also provided information and insights on the theory and practice of state tax incentives.

Jeff's topic, Legislative Update – Sales Tax, discussed the latest state legislative developments, important in determining the impact these changes will have on a business, an industry, and the country.

The Institute for Professionals in Taxation is dedicated to fostering the professionalization of its members, to promoting the uniform and equitable administration of ad valorem taxation and other forms of state and local taxation and to minimizing the costs of administration and compliance.
