Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) 34th Annual Conference

Sutherland Partners Stephen P. Kranz, Marc A. Simonetti, and Eric S. Tresh are speaking at the IPT 34th Annual Conference, June 27-30, 2010, in Phoenix, Arizona. Steve will be presenting on "The Taxation of Digital Goods – Equality or Desperation?" This session will explore the state and federal trends in this area of sales and use tax, recent and anticipated legislation within various states, and potential federal legislation to address this topic.

Marc is part of a panel that will discuss "Protecting FIN 48 Workpapers – Best Practices Following Textron." This panel will examine best practices for creating, maintaining and protecting documents from disclosure, while ensuring that external auditors receive the information needed to conduct financial statement audits.

Eric’s presentation entitled "Convergence in the Communication Industry & Impact on Asset Valuation" will provide an overview of the communications industry and the convergence of its businesses.

Sutherland attorney Pilar Mata is a member of the IPT 2010 Annual Conference Committee.
