Energy in the Southeast Conference

June 12-13, 2008

Sutherland Partner Paul B. Turner is Co-Chair of the Energy in the Southeast Conference, June 12-13, 2008, at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, Georgia.  Paul is also speaking on carbon trading markets, with an update on markets in the U.S. and lessons from the EU.  In addition, Sutherland Partner Peter H. Rodgers is presenting on CFTC and FERC jurisdiction, including information on whom may regulate when financial and physical markets overlap.

The economic and political landscape for energy markets and resource development is continually changing.  In the coming years, utilities will face increased pressure to develop, integrate and sell new resources and to improve the infrastructure for existing resources.  A variety of energy investments and programs are underway or on the drawing board, and activity in the Southeast energy industry will only increase.  The conference brings together local, state and federal authorities to provide an update on current issues and strategies to address future energy needs.
