2013 New York Series: Hot Topics in Private Investment Funds

May 21, 2013

Sutherland Series

Sutherland’s Private Funds team invites you to join us for a series of events discussing issues facing private investment funds. Sutherland attorneys will discuss annual reviews, capital raising, exams, tax matters, derivatives, enforcement and compliance, and other relevant issues that private investment funds face. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are more focused than ever on the practices of private investment funds and their advisers. Given the growing popularity and the increased public access to private investment funds, fund management must be increasingly aware of the perils of heightened scrutiny by the regulators.

Sutherland attorneys Neil Lang, John Walsh and Stephen Tsai have substantial experience advising clients in these matters, and will lead a discussion on the common themes of recent compliance sweeps and enforcement actions by the SEC and CFTC, and what private investment fund managers need to know in order to comply with regulatory guidance and avoid the attention of the regulators.
