Washington, D.C. (December 12, 2008) – Thomas R. Bundy III, a partner in Sutherland’s Washington, D.C., office, has been named Young Lawyer of the Year by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. He was honored December 6 during the Bar Association’s 137th Annual Banquet.
Bundy is a partner in Sutherland’s Litigation Practice Group, where he focuses his practice in complex commercial disputes, particularly labor and employment issues. In 2007 Bundy led a Sutherland team that received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs for its handling of a landmark disability rights case. He has been recognized as a rising star by the Washington Business Journal and was honored with the Star of the Quarter award from the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division.
Bundy is former Chair of the Young Lawyer Section of the Bar Association for the District of Columbia, most recently chairing the Host Committee for the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division’s 2008 Spring Conference. He is also a Hearing Committee Member for the Board on Professional Responsibility for the District of Columbia. He earned his law degree from Howard University School of Law in 2000. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey.
