Atlanta (October 3, 2008) – The Atlanta Bar Association, during its pro bono awards luncheon on October 2, presented Sutherland and its peer firm Kilpatrick Stockton with the Breaking the Cycle Award for their work representing women seeking protection from the threat of violence from a partner or former partner.
"We are grateful to the Atlanta Bar Association for the recognition given to us and to our peers at Kilpatrick," said Managing Partner Mark D. Wasserman. "As legal professionals, pro bono and community service work is one of our greatest duties and privileges."
"I am proud to be a part of a firm that supports its communities," said Sutherland Partner and Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee Judith A. O’Brien. "Our communities are dealing with difficult issues, especially in these tough economic times, and to be able to give back is an honor."
