HOUSTON—Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Juan C. Garcia has been named a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation for his outstanding professional achievements and demonstrated commitment to the improvement of the Texas justice system. Mr. Garcia is the fifth Sutherland attorney to be named a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
“We are extremely proud of this recognition of Juan’s achievements," said Daniel Johnson, Partner in Charge of Sutherland’s Houston office. “Not only is he an incredible lawyer, but Juan is a leader within our firm and in the community, so it is fitting that he would be recognized on a state-wide basis as a Fellow.”
Each year, only one-third of one percent of Texas attorneys are invited to become Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation. Once nominees are selected, the honorees are then chosen by the Texas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees. Mr. Garcia joins Sutherland’s other Texas Bar Foundation fellows, Alan Albright, Benjamin G. Clark, Daniella Landers and Kent C. Sullivan.
At Sutherland, Mr. Garcia litigates complex commercial and tort cases across a variety of industries, including the oil and gas, real estate, and insurance sectors. Additionally, he represents governmental bodies, such as regional transit authorities, on land acquisitions through condemnation. Mr. Garcia also guides clients in responding to catastrophic incidents and the regulatory investigations that follow.
