Sutherland Partner Herb Beller Appointed to IRSAC

WashingtonSutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP announces that Washington tax partner Herbert N. Beller has been selected as a member of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC). 

IRSAC provides a forum for IRS officials and representatives of the public to discuss tax administration issues.  IRSAC members include 27 tax and accounting professionals, academicians and economists from around the country.  They meet regularly in Washington to convey the public's perception of IRS activities; to offer constructive observations regarding current or proposed IRS policies, programs and procedures; and to suggest improvements to IRS operations.

Mr. Beller has practiced federal tax law in Washington for almost 40 years, with an emphasis on tax planning and controversy work for business entities and tax-exempt organizations.  He is a former Chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Taxation, and also has served as Co-Chair of the National Conference of Lawyers and Certified Public Accountants and as a Regent of the American College of Tax Counsel.
