NEW YORK—Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that Captive Review named the firm Tax Advisory Firm of the Year for the second consecutive year in its 2014 U.S. Captive Service Awards. Judged by a panel of captive owners and risk managers and presented by the leading trade publication focused on risk management and captive insurance, the awards celebrate innovation, commitment and expertise in the captive insurance field.
Judges were impressed in particular by Sutherland’s “work in leading the industry in lobbying efforts,” specifically noting the firm’s role in opposing a proposed New York law that would have included income of all captives in the combined income of their parents in calculating the franchise tax of the parent.
“Tax and insurance have long been two of Sutherland’s premiere practices, and it is an honor to be recognized by our peers for the tremendous work for our clients that our captive insurance team provides year in and year out,” said Sutherland Managing Partner Mark D. Wasserman.
Sutherland’s captive insurance practice advises U.S., international and multinational clients on creative solutions to manage risks and realize business objectives through captives.
