ATLANTA—Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Allegra J. Lawrence-Hardy has been named among the 2015 “Most Influential Black Lawyers” in the United States by Savoy Magazine, a publication dedicated to recognizing influencers and achievers within the African-American community.
The list, published in the magazine’s Spring issue, showcases prestigious partners from leading national law firms and corporate counsel from Fortune 1000 companies. Selected by the Savoy Editorial Board and a legal advisory board composed of prominent judges, corporate counsel and accomplished law professors, Ms. Lawrence-Hardy was chosen for her distinguished legal career, firm leadership and demonstrated commitment to the community.

While serving as chair of Sutherland’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Ms. Lawrence-Hardy developed Sutherland Scholars, an intensive, three-week, 40-hour program offered at no cost to students from historically black colleges and universities. More than 350 students have graduated from the program. She also has supported various Georgia-based organizations including the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, the Atlanta Girls’ School and the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Ms. Lawrence-Hardy has been the recipient of numerous awards and is regularly featured in the legal profession’s “best of” and “who’s who” lists. Most recently, she received the 2015 “Women Worth Watching” award from Profiles in Diversity Journal, was named to the Diversity & the Bar “Rainmakers” list, and received the Spelman College Atlanta Chapter’s National Alumnae Association Community Service Award for her dedication to improve the quality of life for the citizens of metropolitan Atlanta.
At Sutherland, Ms. Lawrence-Hardy co-heads both the firm’s Business and Commercial Litigation team and the Labor and Employment team. She works with her clients on complex commercial and labor and employment matters. An integral member of the firm’s award-winning Legal Project Management program, she helps develop processes and tools for improving the efficiency and delivery of legal services. She also is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
