ATLANTA (May 24, 2001) – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that B. Knox Dobbins and W. Scott Wright have been selected by the State Bar of Georgia to receive awards for their commitment to pro bono service.
Knox Dobbins has been selected by the Bar's Access to Justice Committee as the 2001 recipient of the H. Sol Clark Award for his pro bono service. The Award is the Georgia Bar's highest award for pro bono service and recognizes Knox's work on behalf of the Bar's A Business Commitment (ABC)Committee, which he chairs, and the ABC Pro Bono Project whose purpose is to involve business lawyers in pro bono work. Knox is also a member of the State Bar's Committee on Indigent Defense and the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, where he serves on the Pro Bono Committee.
Scott Wright has been selected by the Bar's A Business Commitment Pro Bono Committee as the 2001 recipient of the ABC Pro Bono Award for pro bono service to the nonprofit community, specifically his dedication to providing transactional legal services to community groups in rural Georgia. In his practice, Scott has worked with closely-held businesses as well as large multinational corporations on tax planning and controversies at both the federal and state levels and has represented clients in the United States Tax Court and in various state courts.
