Sutherland Partners James B. Jordan, David J. Rabinowitz and Jennifer R. Van Ness are speaking at the 2008 International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) U.S. Shopping Center Law Conference, October 22-25, 2008, at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Florida. Jim is facilitating a workshop entitled “The ABC’s of Redeveloping Existing Shopping Centers.” This workshop will focus on the different perspectives of the various actors involved in redeveloping an existing shopping center. David is leading a seminar titled “Ten Things You Must Know about Big Box Leasing – Thinking Inside the Box,” which will explore from both the landlord and the tenant perspective issues of the landlord-tenant relationship that are at the forefront of the big box lease negotiations. Jennifer is a facilitator for “Dancing In the Dark—The Kiss and Promise of Co-Tenancy Protection, Covenants to Operate and the Dark Consequences of Their Failure,” a workshop focusing on co-tenancy clauses.
Additionally, Sutherland attorneys Jason C. Kirkham, R. Robinson Plowden and David S. Poline are leading three of the Conference’s Breakfast Roundtables on Saturday, October 25. These roundtables will be informal discussions among industry professionals.
